3.  Objects

 

The objects of the Association are to:

 

3.1.

provide facilities, assistance, opportunities and related services to directly relieve disability,  sickness, suffering, distress, misfortune, disadvantage or helplessness;

3.2.

ensure each person has the opportunity to achieve his/her capacity for physical, social, emotional and intellectual development and a right to individualised, educational and developmental opportunities and is entitled to exercise maximum control over every aspect of his/her life;

3.3

ensure that people with a disability have access to the services generally available to all members of the community and provide specialised supplementary services to the extent required to meet individual needs;

3.4

provide services sufficiently flexible in structure and organisation to meet the varying needs of people with a disability in developing towards independence to maximize the choices open to them;

3.5

promote maximum physical and social integration through the participation of people with a disability in the life of the community,

3.6

ensure that condition of people with disabilities’ lives are the same as, or as close as possible to, norms and patterns which are valued in the general community;

3.7

co-operate with other organisations whose objects are altogether or in part similar to those of the Association;

3.8

raise funds for the preceding objects; and

3.9

do such things as may be incidental or conducive to the attainment of the objects set out in this Rule 3.
