Important:

Do as many general tasks as possible in the evenings – this allows the mornings to be organised and meet taxi and work time frames.

 

Morning:

Worker need to be ready for duty from 7:00am. Weekends and Public holidays may be a little later.

      Attend to personal hygiene needs of participants who have continence issues.

      Participants to wash face and hands, and get dressed for the day.

      Medications

      Put on any laundry to wash, including bedding, and towels.

      Participants who are able, to prepare own breakfasts with direction

      Participants to make beds, and tidy rooms, with assistance.

      Worker are to supervise final grooming and personal appearance, including teeth and hair brushing.

      Check backpacks or bags for the day.

      Final check and completion of Exit forms, for outgoing participants.

      Complete documentation

      General house duties include:

−      Check menu, and get food out of freezer for the evening meal. (Leave in fridge to thaw)

−      Sweeping, vacuuming and general tidying, when required.

−      Hang wet laundry out to dry.

−      Empty vacuum cleaner after each use.

−      Empty all rubbish bins, including those in both bathrooms

−      Ensure the worker bed has been changed, remade and sheets, pillowcase and towels are washed and hung out.

−      Ensure heating and lights are off

−      Ensure all house doors are locked

−      Detailed shift notes

 

Afternoon & Evening:

      Read files, Communication Book, Rosters, Bedroom and Taxi plans

      Check participant beds, and place on protective “kylies” when necessary.

      Check medication, Confirm Release and/or Treatment Sheets

      Check participant money/cash records ensuring they balance

      Direct participants to bring in washing, fold and put away, ensuring clothing items go to the correct participant.

      Commence meal preparation

      Pack lunches for the next day

      Participants to assist with the clearing up and washing of dishes.

      All participants are to have showers before bed

      Put on a load of washing, after showers

      Pack outgoing participants clothing, checking names and compare with Entry checklist.

      Night medications

      Evening documentation

      Wipe the rubber seal inside the washing machine door after each use.

      Empty lint filter

      Detailed shift notes

 

Weekly:

      Fire checks

      Evacuation Pack checks

 

Per Use:

      Clean and tidy car

      Refuel car

      Record travel details
