Kyeema Support Services has systems to ensure that any defect found during bus inspections is in place and that such inspections are carried out for each bus in the fleet and recorded.
The authorised person will be responsible for reporting any defects found during the daily inspection, and the driver whilst driving the bus.
If checks reveal a defect, the authorised person will complete the defect found column in the daily pre-trip inspection.
•BSF-04 Bus Daily Pre-Trip Check Form
Once the defect has been repaired the defect and clearance report will be completed and the form filed.
•Vehicle Maintenance and Defect Register K:\Admin\Vehicles\Vehicle Maintenance & Defect Register\
In the event that a vehicle is considered unsafe to operate the vehicle will be prevented from leaving the premises by securing a notice “bus needs repair” on the Vehicle White Board, the bus steering wheel and the vehicle keys are to be secured in the Administration Office.
The templates for these are on the Kyeema QMS and forms in use or completed are in
K:\Bus Safety and Compliance\Bus Maintenance Management System. Manual copies are filed in the Bus Register in the Administration Office.
All forms are to be retained for at least three years.
