Policy
Board Directors have a responsibility to ensure the sustainability and continuation of Kyeema. There is an expectation that members of the Board will be asked to contribute to the fundraising activities of Kyeema where possible, utilising their time, skills, ideas and networking.
Purpose
1. Board Directors have the
responsibility for ensuring funding is available to support the activities of
Kyeema, of which fundraising is a part.
2. While the Board may delegate many of the operations of fundraising to committees and individuals at Kyeema, the Board retains the responsibility for inspiring other fundraisers, demonstrating the perceived importance of fundraising to Kyeema, and demonstrating their leadership in this area.
3. Board members should show leadership in fundraising by contributing time and organisational skills to this purpose and by disseminating information about such activities to their own networks, in accordance with their availability and capacity.
Fundraising Procedures
Responsibilities
1. The Chair is responsible
for bringing this policy to the attention of prospective Board members.
2. Board Directors should
support the fundraising efforts of Kyeema, including suggesting ideas and
opportunities.
3. The Board and any
subcommittee constituted for this purpose should ensure the probity of any
fundraising activities and be accountable for any funds
raised
4. Board directors:
- Are responsible for respecting and adhering to this policy.
- Are asked to support special events run by Kyeema to raise money or generate contacts.
- Where possible, consider and recommend prospective individual and corporate donors to Kyeema;
- When requested, sign letters and external communications to prospective donors on behalf of Kyeema
