Position: Human Resources Officer   

Award and Condition: Kyeema Enterprise Agreement

Hours: By arrangement

Responsible to: Corporate Services Manager  

Location: 50 Lalor Street, Portland

 

Objective of the role

To Provide high quality support across the organisation in a manner that complies with all internal procedures and external laws and standards.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

      Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems

      Provide counselling on policies and procedures

      Be actively involved in preparing job descriptions, posting ads and overseeing the hiring process

      Create and implement effective onboarding plans and processes

      Assist in the coordination of all aspects of the employee lifecycle including the end to end recruitment process, onboarding, induction and termination

      Assist in performance management processes

      Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues

      Maintain employee records (working with children, NDIS worker screens, etc) according to policy and legal requirements

      Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance

      Identify skills or knowledge gaps within the organisation that need to be addressed

      Create a safe environment where communication, discussion and participation is encouraged

      Be competent with Kyeema’s learning management system Sentrient and monitor staff records as required

      Kyeema holds a policy of zero tolerance to racism and has expectations that staff and volunteers will act on incidents of racism

      Kyeema has systems to protect children from abuse, will take all allegations very seriously and will respond to them consistently in line with Kyeema’s policies and procedures

General

Ø Adherence to Kyeema’s values both culturally and professionally

Ø Experience in the interpretation and provision of general human resource advice relating to Acts, Industrial Agreements and Awards, Regulations, Policies and Procedures

Ø Strong communication and leadership skills

Ø Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Regulations Act 2004

Ø Understanding of the disability sector, in particular the NDIS Disability Standards, and the specific requirements of those working in this sector

Ø Ability to relate to participants, families, staff, and other stakeholders of Kyeema

Ø Ability to initiate and maintain contact with relevant community organisations

Ø Administrative, organisational, report writing and IT skills

Ø Proficiency and experience in using a range of software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Explorer and the ability to learn Sentrient and Carelink+

Ø Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
