1. Lock all external doors – check even those you are not sure were used.
2. Check toilets for cleanliness, check lights/fans are off, switches are separate
3. Check stoves, appliances turned off in kitchens, dishes are washed and put away
4. Turn off heaters, air conditioners, stereos, lights
5. Close windows in all areas
6. Turn off all lights that are not in use check offices and computer room
7. Lock all external doors e.g. Woodbox, sheds
o Lock front door by switching electronic keypad to lock position. This lock can be found fixed to window frame to right side of door. To change setting, on the electronic keypad, hold OFF button for 2 seconds until the indicator light blinks. Press LOCK button once, so that the light glows steady above LOCK
8. All water / taps and fountain turned off in garden
9. All vehicles that should be in garage have been put away and garage doors are shut.
10. Set the security with your code and ensure front door is locked behind you
o Go to security device in front foyer. Lift front cover of device. If you have a security code type that in (if you don’t have a code please call the On-call mobile 0417 156 239)
o Security device should start beeping, one beep every 2-3 seconds
o If security device does not do this and gives a series of quick beeps this means that a door is open somewhere in the building
o To find which door is open there is a series of numbers on the front of security device. One of these numbers will be flashing. Match the number with the numbers on the front cover of device, this will show which door is open. Go and close it make, sure it is locked. Repeat step 10
o Open door by pressing green emergency open button which can be found below door lock
o Leave building, make sure door closes behind you and is locked
