Personal Leave

Human Resources > Personal Leave

Authorised by Chief Executive Officer

Revised Date: 21 July 2021

Relevant to all Kyeema employees.

Full time and part time (pro rata) personal leave entitlements are in accordance with the relevant Award within which each employee has been employed.

For any continuous period of personal leave exceeding three (3) days a medical certificate from a registered practitioner should be provided.

Personal leave taken before or after a Public Holiday or staff annual leave will require a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner.

Employees are entitled to five single days per calendar year, without a doctor’s certificate. Single days of personal leave thereafter will require a doctor’s certificate.

In the event the employee is unable to provide a medical certificate from a registered practitioner the employee is required to provide a statutory declaration which stated the employee was unable to attend for duty on account of personal injury or illness.

The CEO and Managers may request an employee to leave work if it is considered the person is unwell or carrying an injury that could be aggravated by work being undertaken. This is for health and safety reasons.

Employees may, at the manager’s discretion, be asked to provide a doctor’s clearance certificate to return to work after illness or injury.
