Each job at Windward Industries must be accompanied by a Job Safety Analysis and Task Analysis.

 

Purpose

To provide direction for a safe working area.

 

Applies to

The following employees: ALL.

 

Training

Staff to train/support employees on task. Supervision is required in the set up of vacuum cleaner, correct use of broom, brush & shovel. This may need to be done every time until employees can follow procedure correctly.

 

Safety

PPE: Safety glasses & gloves. Staff to make sure that a minimum amount of dust is created. To ensure that the vacuum cleaner is setup in a safe manner.

 

Hazard Assessment

List here all aspects of the job e.g. Manual handling, Chemical hazards

Tangling of power cord, Wet areas (electric shock), Moving cleaner (no lifting).

 

Environmental Impact

Incorrect disposal may contaminate recycable items.

 

Isolation

Observe any isolation conditions that may be in place

Brief numbered steps of job task. Include flow chart where required

1.       Check that benches/floor is clear of non required items, direct employees if necessary. Involve employees in process

2.       Supervise set up procedure. Give verbal cues.

3.       Record progress in comments column.
