Purpose
To conduct work in a safe manner and to wear appropriate PPE i.e. safety glasses
Induct support staff to Emergency Management e.g. Emergency Evacuation
Applies to
All Windward Industries staff and employees working on WLW premises
Training
Staff to train/support employees on task
Staff to ensure all employees are familiar with evacuation areas.
Staff to ensure employees are supervised all times and do NOT proceed beyond enclosed work area in shed. Supervision is required to ensure due process.
Safety
• Employees do NOT proceed beyond enclosed work area in shed. PPE: 3M mask, Racal helmet and protective gloves
• Be aware of other operational traffic around you and maintain a 4mt distance
• WI staff/employees are to follow the directions of personal in case of Emergency Evacuations or practice drills
• All employees be familiar with evacuation point
Pre-Operational Checks
Rubber matt on floor does not present a trip hazard.
Check that temperature setting on heat sealer is not set to high. Maximum setting: Setting 4
Hazard Assessment
List here all aspects of the job e.g. Manual handling, Chemical hazards
• Minimize manual handling of blue drums.
• Check for liquid spills
• Items left by other contractors
Environmental Impact
House keeping: Clean workstation every time before leaving site. This will prevent build up of Polsol on floor and work benches.
Isolation
List any “standing isolation procedures by title and number
