NPW Native Plant Wholesalers
• Updated NPW Order Form release Thursday- Notification is sent to Seawinds email. Print off hardcopy from NPW Nursery website- Go to “Trade”, password is automated.
It is easier to take the hard copy out into the nursery to check it against current stock and it gives other staff the opportunity to view/add to the order form.
• Begin marking out order form and check customer order book for requests. Don’t create an online Evergreen Connect order until Friday afternoon or Saturday (at the latest). In the warmer months, it is better to complete the order on Saturday because there tends to be more customer requests and it is a busier sales day.
• Minimum order is $600 with a minimum of 3 plants per variety. Note what sells well in the nursery & check previous invoices for frequently ordered varieties. Customers frequently request plants they have seen on recent gardening shows.
• Evergreen Connect- Online ordering program that has an annual fee. See ordering on Evergreen Connect procedure.
• Supply Issues- Sometimes ordered varieties are not delivered/invoiced. Larger nurseries are often prioritized, so it is advisable not to guarantee an order to customers.
• Delivery- Orders usually arrive the following Friday afternoon and occasionally on a Thursday afternoon.
• Frequency of orders- Weekly orders might be necessary in Spring,
however in winter & Late
December/January orders can be made every
couple of weeks. This keeps costing low in the quiet times and Seawinds native
propagated stock can be used to keep the retail area looking full. Conversely, a
large order can be used to fill the nursery, but frequent smaller orders are
attractive to regular customers.
• Kyeema Spring Sale- Due to supply issues, it is advisable to begin stocking up on plants in September. Order anything “budding” or in “flower”, especially Kangaroo Paws and store in on the back benches or in “Barney” shade house. Select varieties that will be familiar to customers & volunteers on the day to make quick sales easier.
