Seawinds Nursery Closing Procedure
At approx. 3.15pm ensure that staff are cleaning up:
•Transplanted plants put in poly tunnel & watered in with Seasol.
•Tables cleared & swept clean.
•Unused/dirty pots, trays, punnets etc returned to storage or pot wash table at the back of the nursery.
•Plant material and recycle soil bins emptied in recycle soil area or pile at the back of nursery.
•Move worktables forward and sweep shed floor.
Before 3:30pm shift end – Clean/sort tags, put away dishes, sweep kitchen floor, etc.
For supported employees with 4:30pm shift end– Hand water, process seeds, sow seeds, finish outside tasks- pot wash, tidy retail stock, etc.
Before 4:30pm
•Shut & lock back/side gates and shed.
•Shut all polytunnel/shade house doors.
•Return empty trolleys and wheelbarrows near back gate.
•Complete Carelink notes.
At 4:30pm
•Lock front customer gate with small key
•Lock side doors to workshop- Master key with blue marking
•Close roller door using white remote button mounted on shelf above till –
•Padlock roller door on left side– Green tag key & padlock hang from hook near phone. Put key in with float tray.
•Open the till using either the key or enter clerk # on touch screen and select no sale (picture of a till) to open.
•Follow “End of day POS” procedure.
•Turn off split system, CD player, kettle, etc.
•Turn off office lights.
•Shut office window and lock office door.
•Set Alarm on wall to left of office window.
•Turn off main light – Bottom light switch behind Air Roaster near front door.
•Lock front door deadbolt – Master key with blue marking.
•Lock door handle with round key.
•Lock Wellington Rd front entrance gate – with long padlock key.
•Lay sign down.
•The emergency keys for the safe and office door are stored in the yellow sharps container in the blue snake kit located in the bottom kitchen drawer
