Human Resources > Staff Appraisal Procedure

Authorised by Chief Executive Officer

Revised Date: 10 October 2024

Policy

All staff will undergo an annual staff appraisal. This will contribute towards the development of Kyeema’s staff training plan. Staff are able, at any time, to discuss any training needs with their manager. Managers and team leaders will discuss performance issues and development needs as required with staff.

The CEO will undergo an annual appraisal.  From this, Key Performance Indicators will be drawn up for the next 12 months.

Scope

1.   Each Kyeema staff member has been employed to meet the needs of the organisation through the fulfilment of individual roles and the carrying out of specific tasks.

2.   There is an expectation that staff progressively build on their professional skills so that there is continual improvement in the fulfilment of these roles and tasks.

3.   Kyeema is committed to provide:

-  Role clarity for staff and mentoring if the role changes

-  Day-to-day management, support and direction

-  Training and professional development

4.   The annual appraisal process provides the opportunity for individual staff members and their manager to:

-    Evaluate how well staff and management are meeting the above expectations

-    Identify and address any difficulties or obstacles that have affected performance

-    Identify ideas staff may have to contribute to the quality or strategic direction of the organisation

-    Identify training and development for the coming year

-   Give staff the opportunity to express interest in other roles in the organisation

5.   Appraisals will take place in April or May each year and can be conducted by the Board, CEO, Managers and Team Leaders as appropriate to the role being appraised.
