Location of worksite:

We are situated in 191 Wellington Road, Portland at the same location as Portland Aluminium’s Salmon House (see map).

 

Hours of Work:

Seawinds staff start work at 9:30am Work experience participants may start later if required by prior arrangement

 

Morning Tea            11:00am – 11:15am

Lunch                     1:00pm – 1:45pm

Home at                 4:30pm

 

Working Clothes / Uniform:

All new employees should wear a shirt with long sleeves, work pants or jeans and work boots if possible. A T-shirt is optional for the warmer weather. If working outside all employees are encouraged to wear a hat and to apply sunscreen.

If participant does not have steel capped work books; sturdy leather boots or leather sneakers are acceptable.

 

Safety Equipment:

When working in conditions that require ear or eye protection; the appropriate equipment will be supplied. Gloves must be worn when dealing with potting mixes, these are supplied.

 

Location of Facilities:

The toilets are located at the rear of the Seawinds workshop (access from outside). There are tea and coffee making facilities available in the crib room along with a fridge and microwave oven and sandwich toaster.  You will have to bring all your food requirements for the day at Seawinds as there is no non-contact time, healthy food options are encouraged, as we set an example to our employees, i.e. no soft drinks, lollies etc.

 

Pay Details:

Staff wages are paid via direct payroll crediting into their nominated account HRF-48 weekly
