Position: Training Coordinator  

Award and Condition: Kyeema Enterprise Agreement

Hours: By arrangement and this role may be added to another role

Responsible to: CEO 

Location: 50 Lalor Street, Portland

 

Objective of role

Identify training needs of Kyeema employees

 

Liaise with external training providers where appropriate

 

Design, develop and implement training programs best suited to the organisations needs while maintaining knowledge of new training methods and techniques

 

Ensure staff training records are maintained

 

Key Responsibilities

           Identify skills or knowledge gaps within the organisation that need to be addressed

           Map out annual training plans for management including but not limited to employee inductions and first aid training

           Design and develop training programs best suited to Kyeema Support Services while maintaining up to date knowledge on new training methods and techniques

           Design, prepare and organise educational aids and materials specific to each training module, providing these to trainees in a timely manner 

           Maintain and prepare in-house training equipment and facilities ensuring all equipment used is deemed safe

           Market available training to employees and provide necessary information about the training session offered

           Create a safe environment where communication, discussion and participation is encouraged  from all trainees and trainers

           Gather feedback from trainers and trainees after each training session focusing on any training areas that may require change or improvement

           Maintain updated curriculum database and training records, ensuring these are stored both electronically and in employee files

           Ensure all training completed adheres with both internal and external auditing agencies

           Ensure all training is completed in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004

           Be competent with Kyeema’s learning management system Sentrient and monitor staff training as required

       Kyeema has systems to protect children from abuse, will take all allegations very seriously and will respond to them consistently in line with Kyeema’s policies and procedures

General

Kyeema Support Services Inc., endeavours to provide the best service possible for people who have a disability. To do so we must remain flexible, and able to adapt to peoples changing needs. It is acknowledged that such flexibility may impact on the key task areas as listed above. It is the responsibility of the supervising manager of this role and the Training Coordinator to monitor any significant adjustments to the above as required

 

Skills and Qualities required for position of Training Coordinator

The following are a mix of qualities, skills and experience required for the position of Training Coordinator.

           Adherence to Kyeema’s values

           Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods and techniques

           Strong communication and leadership skills

           Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Regulations Act 2004

           Understanding of the disability sector, in particular the NDIS Disability Standards, and the specific training requirements of those working in this sector

           Ability to relate to participants, families, staff and other stakeholders of Kyeema

           Ability to initiate and maintain contacts with training providers and other relevant community organisations

           Organisational Skills

           Administrative, report writing and IT skills

           Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
