Wage Assessment Procedure

Supported Employment > Wage Assessment Procedure

Authorised by Chief Executive Officer

Revised Date: 21 September 2020

Background

Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs) funded by the NDIS must comply with NDIS Standards.

Each service recipient enjoys working conditions comparable to other Australians, including being paid full Award wages or if the person is not fully productive because of their disability, pro-rata wages based on a transparent assessment tool. The intention of the Standards is that people with disabilities get paid 'real wages for real work'.

Wage Assessments

Kyeema Support Services Inc. uses the Greenacres Association: Competency Based Wage Tool. This tool assesses an individual’s level of capability as well as the level required to perform the task. The employee is then assessed against the performance based scale set by other employees. This tool means an employee is assessed at a level set by employees, working at a level similar to their own.  There are 5 levels A > E.

Wage assessments are conducted by staff using the Greenacres Tool. Reassessments are conducted in conjunction with annual Employment Assistance Plans.

Employees working on new tasks on a regular basis should also be re-assessed, this also includes ongoing tasks that have had their processes altered.
