Policy

Kyeema Support Services Inc. (Kyeema) to ensure that safe facilities are provided for employees appropriate to the tasks to be undertaken.

Scope

Kyeema provids work places and sites within the community. Kyeema has a responsibility to all engaged within these sites.

Definitions

Appropriate Facilities - Equipment, amenities and space provided for the welfare and comfort of employees as determined in accordance with the location and conditions in the workplace.

Procedure

Program Managers in conjunction with the Health and Safety Committee shall ensure the following facilities within their area of responsibilities, are maintained in a good condition.

−      Dining facilities - dining rooms/areas

−      Change rooms

−      Other storage facilities

−      Washing accommodation

−      Emergency washing facilities

−      Drinking water

−      Workplace environment - heating/cooling/ventilation

−      Outside work - shelters, toilets, communication

−      Workplace design, layout, space including aisle ways & passageways & means of egress/exit

−      Task lighting

−      Workplace cleanliness

−      Seating

−      Floor insulation

−      Toilets

−      First aid
