Consent to Share Information

Kyeema Common Operational Procedures > Consent to Share Information

Authorised by Chief Executive Officer

Issue Date: 5 January 2017

Kyeema undertakes to protect the privacy of participant information, and to comply with the current Information Privacy Act.

Participant information is sometimes required by other agencies, in particular by funding bodies. There may be times when it is beneficial to the participant’s wellbeing and quality of support to share information with other agencies.

Some participants are able to understand the implications of giving consent and others require a guardian to do this for them.

Disability Support Staff and Managers should take the time to explain the consent process to participants and if it is considered that they do not understand the implications refer to a Carer.

Supported Employment Services (SEE’s) have a different Consent Form from other services due to information the Commonwealth requires the form to have.
