Refer also Media Policy

The Kyeema Newsletter is to be produced bi-monthly and sent out to all participants, families, carers, Board Directors and staff.

All program areas are encouraged to provide articles and photos about activities and projects that they are engaged in.

A newsletter has an important role to play in communication across the organisation and gives people a feeling of involvement and belonging.

In accordance with Kyeema’s vision and mission the Kyeema Kapers Newsletter is to be created with input from Kyeema participants when possible.

Participants who are the focus of a story included in the newsletter are to, if able, be offered the opportunity to add a quote about their experience and/or the event described in the story.

Distribution

The Newsletter is distributed via multiple methods.

Staff members, Board members and some other recipients in the general public are emailed a .PDF version of the newsletter.

The general public mailing list is maintained by a designated Administrative Officer. When bulk emailing the newsletter to the general public, the recipients are to be placed in the BCC field to ensure that the recipients’ emails are not accessible by the other recipients.

The .PDF of the most recent newsletter is also uploaded to the Kyeema website and placed on the “Publications and Documents” page for download.

Physical copies are sealed in envelopes and posted to participants and families; however some Day Programs participants are given a physical copy as they leave the building rather than having it posted to them.

Some extra physical copies are placed in the document holder at the reception window.

The required number of physical copies, a mailing list and the label sheet can be found under K:\General Items for All Staff\Kyeema Kapers Newsletter\
